"Bernie Sanders says he favors gun control measures just as strongly as his Democratic presidential rivals, touting his rural-state roots as key to his chances of enacting 'real, constructive' legislation."
"In an interview with CNN's Jake Tapper Sunday on 'State of the Union,' the Vermont senator touted his career 'D-' rating from the [NRA]."
"Sanders also played up his differences on policy issues with Hillary Clinton and hit national Democrats for a debate calendar he said is too restrictive during the interview."

lesser, weak sauce version of the Kirsten gillibrand/Mark Kirk/Harry Reid angle, "pro-gun democrats" used to usurp the 2A....in this case just "redneck roots" rather than pro gun: like John Kerry's "Where can I get me a huntin' liesunse?" in bait shop during his campaign...or Hillary's "I don' feel no ways tired"...you know... speak their language, down to them

"I think every person has to be able to defend himself and his relatives, his nearest and dearest, his family and property. The most important thing is to be able to react quickly in an extreme situation and to make the right decision. QUOTES
TO REMEMBER |
For, in principle, there is no difference between a law prohibiting the wearing of concealed arms, and a law forbidding the wearing such as are exposed; and if the former be unconstitutional, the latter must be so likewise. But it should not be forgotten, that it is not only a part of the right that is secured by the constitution; it is the right entire and complete, as it existed at the adoption of the constitution; and if any portion of that right be impaired, immaterial how small the part may be, and immaterial the order of time at which it be done, it is equally forbidden by the constitution.
