There is no way to check every person in America for "mental illness." How many times do we hear of some nut offing his family only to hear neighbors say "he was such a nice quiet guy ... a good person... I'm shocked this happened!"? OTOH when we get the Nikolas Cruzes, we find police visited his house three dozen times ...nothing .... he aimed a gun at his mother (assault with a deadly weapon) nothing ....two people call the F. B. I. and report him and ....yup, NOTHING. The banners want it both ways. It doesn't matter if they can "detect" shooters or not. They just don't want us armed. |

QUOTES
TO REMEMBER |
Before a standing army can rule, the people must be disarmed; as they are in almost every kingdom of Europe. The supreme power in America cannot enforce unjust laws by the sword; because the whole body of the people are armed, and constitute a force superior to any bands of regular troops that can be, on any pretense, raised in the United States. — Noah Webster in "An Examination into the Leading Principles of the Federal Constitution," 1787, in Paul Ford, ed., Pamphlets on the Constitution of the United States, at p. 56 (New York, 1888). |
