2nd Amendment Author Recovering from Heart Attack

by Ed Wolfe
SierraTimes.com
April 26, 2001

Robert A. Waters, author of The Best Defense: True Stories of Intended Victims Who Defended Themselves With Firearms and featured columnist at SierraTimes.com (The Self-Defense Files) returned home today after spending thirteen days in a Florida hospital.

The author suffered a heart attack nearly two weeks ago. Initial bypass surgery went well but was followed by complications including a partially collapsed lung. He has recently recovered enough to be granted the long-awaited release he's wanted since about the time he was checked in. He is now happy to be doing his recovery at home.

Although he is now on the road to recovery, fans waiting for the completion and publication of his follow-up to the widely acclaimed "Best Defense" will be disappointed to learn that there will be a delay in the completion of the final chapters, but the good news is, the book will be finished and it will be published. No ETA is available at the present time.

After working with the mentally handicapped for 25 years, Robert Waters took early retirement to carve out his own little niche in the True Crime genre delighting gun-owning readers with exciting (and sometimes horrifying) tales of average people who could have ended up dead or severely injured by common criminals but had the fortitude, the presence of mind and the firepower to save their own lives or the lives of others.

With its politically incorrect subject matter which can be summed up as proof that "guns save lives" the book has been shunned by mainstream critics and reviewers. Real Americans however have embraced the book with open arms, finally having a narrative documentation of what they've always known to be true in way that is easily shared with friends and relatives of the leftward persuasion.

If the book isn't in your local library, ask them to order it. (Mine did at my request.) Those who haven't read it and would like to find out what they're missing can pick up a copy from Amazon with this link:

KABA NOTE: We've been quietly waiting to let people know that our Operation Self Defense Director ran into some health challenges last week, giving him space and privacy. His absence explains both the reduction in the number of self-defense news stories we've posted lately, along with the reduction in communication with people who regularly communicate with Robert about the news items.

Robert Waters has touched literally thousands and thousands of lives with the message that guns in the hands of good people save lives. His writing archive is found here: http://www.KeepAndBearArms.com/Waters and on SierraTimes.com. He is getting well -- and WILL recover. If you are the praying kind, get to it. We need this man and his work to live on.

If you are among those monitoring online news outlets for Operation Self Defense, please begin copying the actual stories and their web addresses to Newslinks@KeepAndBearArms.com -- and do keep sending them to our brother Robert, as well.
