Another example of the senseless, mindless, policy of so-called "zero tolerance" of anything resembling a weapon in our government run schools. An Irvington New Jersey 8-year-old, Hamadi Alston, pointed a paper gun at his classmates in March and announced, "I'm going to kill you all," he said he was only playing cops and robbers. But his words launched him and a classmate on a grim trip through the juvenile justice system, according to a story in the Washington Post, June 20, 2001; Page A03.
Buried deep in the story is the revealing statement by a school official, that their so called "zero tolerance" policy results in them receiving FEDERAL FUNDS! It's all about money!
Another statement by a school official; "...the wrong words were used." Forbidden words? Political "correctness?" George Orwell's "Newspeak?" Rape of the First Amendment?
If the schools were honest, they would not allow children to carry newly minted quarters with Massachusetts on them, and bearing the image of The Minute Man holding a musket. The schools could reap a tidy sum by confiscating the milk money of the kids, in the name of adhering to "zero tolerance."
These are local school boards, acting locally, but supported by federal funding by the Imperial Federal Government. If this is happening in your area, speak out, take a stand. When freedoms are lost, they are lost forever. Our freedoms are bought and paid for, in blood. Don't allow them to be trampled on in the name of so-called "political correctness."
