Gun Dealer Sues the Head of BATF

from Gregory Monte
Jersey City Armory
Jersey City, New Jersey

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco & Firearms has delayed our application for a license to do business in Pennsylvania. They specify a response in 60 days and it has been almost 90 days and they still have not provided an answer.

I feel that the reasons for the delay are not legitimate so have decided to sue the Secretary of the Treasury of the U.S. (who is the ultimate head of the BATF) to get an answer from them.

If any one is interested in reading the complaint filed, the file is attached.

As per standard procedure, a copy of this Complaint has been sent to the Attorney General of the US as well as the Secretary of the Treasury.

If you are interested in contacting either the Secretary of the Treasury or the Attorney General to support Jersey City Armory in this action some information is included below. I would appreciate your help in this regard.

Keep in mind that the Attorney General John Ashcroft is VERY PRO GUN.

 QUOTES TO REMEMBER
By calling attention to a well-regulated militia for the security of the Nation, and the right of each citizen to keep and bear arms, our Founding Fathers recognized the essentially civilian nature of our economy. Although it is extremely unlikely that the fears of governmental tyranny, which gave rise to the second amendment, will ever be a major danger to our Nation, the amendment still remains an important declaration of our basic military-civilian relationships, in which every citizen must be ready to participate in the defense of the country. For that reason I believe the second amendment will always be important. --JOHN F. KENNEDY
