KeepAndBearArms.com — John Ashcroft has received the initial batch of signatures for The Petition for Enforcement of the Second Amendment. 16,323 signatures from every state in the Union were included in this first batch. 

Women and men from all walks of life, with surnames reflecting diverse cultural heritages, contributed to this effort, some sending in their own signatures, others collecting dozens or hundreds, with one activist from Louisiana single-handedly collecting over 1,500 to date. We received support from doctors, lawyers, retired and active military and law enforcement personnel, ministers, educators and students, public servants, executives and entrepreneurs, to list but a few.

The most important thing to understand is this is NOT over. We are still gathering signatures, and will continue to send in more until Mr. Ashcroft gives us the answer we deserve — on a monthly or as-warranted basis. If you have been recruiting for this project, please keep 'em coming. If you haven't please consider doing so. We don't want to just fire one volley and then withdraw, lest we be ignored — it's important that we keep up the momentum. Since the initial package was sent to the Attorney General one week ago, we have added over 2,000 additional signatures (as of this writing) — we have been consistently getting in over 1,000 per week, and we can do even better if we spread the word, and make more gun owners aware of this important effort. Please do what you can to get Petition copies into gun stores and ranges, organizations and clubs, and urge them to recruit signatures and supporters from their customers and members. After all, it's not only in their interest, but because WE support THEM through our patronage or membership, we should rightfully expect reciprocal support from them in turn.
