Taking Back our Rights
Taking back our Rights
By Dave McPhail
Now that the elections are over (at least most of them), it is time to remind the winners who hired them and what we expect of them. Now is not the time to let them sit back and relax.
Take a moment to write a letter, place a phone call, send a fax or an e-mail to your elected representatives at the local, state and federal levels and tell them that you urge them to support your right to keep and bear arms in defense of yourself, your family, your home, your neighborhood, your city and your state.
Let them know that you will be watching how they vote on issues related to our right to keep and bear arms and that you will remember how they voted during the next election.
Advise them, firmly but gently, that you will support them when they support you but you will oppose them when they oppose you. Let them know that you will tell everyone you know when they support our cause, and you will likewise tell everyone you know when they don't.
Advise your representatives that you will support them on genuine crime issues but you are opposed to any legislation that infringes on your right to keep and bear arms.
Please don't think that the elected officials don't listen to what you have to say.
A couple of months ago in the PRK, legislation was introduced (AB 273) which, if it had been successful, would have required ALL Californians to attend and pass a firearms safety class, submit to fingerprinting and obtain a permit to be able to purchase handguns, and register ALL currently owned handguns.
We defeated that bill because we swamped the state assembly, the state senate and the governor's office with phone calls, faxes and e-mail. Certainly, AB 273 was destined to fail at that time because the spineless governor didn't desire to inflame the public just prior to a presidential election, and, thereby hurt Algore's campaign in the PRK. However, we did send a clear message to the legislators that we were not going to stand idly by while they attempted their continued chipping away at our rights.
At one point, assembly people and senators called one of our supporters and begged him to call off his dogs because they couldn't get anything else done.
The point is that our efforts were not wasted, even though AB 273, like the Phoenix, has risen from the ashes of defeat and we'll have to do it all over again.
Why? Because some people can't take a hint and others are relentless in their efforts to disarm us. We are going to have to remind them again that we won't tolerate this continual attack on our rights
-- and on us.
During a recent conversation with my coworkers, non gun owners, they decried the fact that we are losing our rights to keep and bear arms. They included themselves in the statement, "We're losing our rights because we are letting them (the Dems) take them."
Even non gun owners realize that we are losing
our freedom in this country because of the elitist liberals.
People, it is long past the time that we draw a line in the sand and tell the cultural elitists, "This far and no farther!" In fact, we demand the repeal of ALL the unconstitutional pre-confiscation laws passed since 1968.
Smith & Wesson. Remember them? Do we continue to boycott S&W or have they suffered enough? Do we desire to see S&W go out of business? Do we desire to see their employees out of work? Do we deprive ourselves of the fine handguns they have produced for more than a century? Do we sue the feds and have the agreement with Klinton/Algore thrown out? If S&W goes out of business is that playing right into the fed's hand?
Consider this: When G.W. takes office as the Prez we fight to have the agreement nullified so we can save S&W, not for S&W, but for us. After all, the FORMER CEO (Schultz) who caved into Klinton/Algore is now selling bicycles.
Think about it.
Just for info, there are now 81 handguns certified and listed on the Socialist People's Republik of Kalifornia
Department of Jerks web site as being "not unsafe" for sale.
There are 4 Beretta pistols; 6 CZ pistols; 2 Magnum Research pistols; 26 Smith & Wesson pistols and 2 revolvers; 15 Ruger pistols and 23 revolvers; and 3 Walther pistols.
I'd also like to thank everyone who e-mailed to welcome me to Nevada.
