Cabot Guns is the answer to that “what if” question gun nuts most often ponder when the Powerball lottery gets above $300 million. Specifically, the question is: “If money were no object, what would I build (or have built) as my dream handgun?” |

For those of us who live in a country with a Constitution that guarantees its citizens so many rights and privileges, it's easy to forget what a rare and precious gift the protection affirmed by the Second Amendment really is. Today, we are hounded by anti-gun leaders and special interest groups who are determined to curtail our freedom. They want to impose so-called “reasonable” or “common-sense” regulations in harmony with those of Australia and Europe. So what exactly do such onerous restrictions look like? |

Reliability. Accuracy. Functionality. Above all, precision. These are the features retired Navy SEAL Marcus Luttrell relied on in combat; the features of the Mk12 rifle he used in a firefight against terrorists eleven years ago over the rocky terrain of Sawtalo Sar in Afghanistan. This is what Luttrell and his former SDVT-1 teammate Garrett Golden expect of their firearms, and after years of work they’re building a rifle to fulfill those requirements. It’s called the Team Never Quit (TNQ) Mk12CF Special Purpose Rifle (SPR) and it’s the meticulously designed SPR you’ve always wanted.

An October 15 report by Daniel W. Webster, director of the Johns Hopkins Center for Gun Policy and Research, and nine coauthors has resulted in several bold headlines but little critical analysis. Articles with titles such as “Report: Allowing Guns On Campus Results In More, Not Less, Gun Violence” and “Guns on campus unlikely to increase safety, study finds” belie both the fact that the report is theoretical and doesn’t cite any resulting gun violence on college campuses and the fact that the report, which involved no data analysis and was neither published nor peer-reviewed, is not actually a “study” in the academic sense of the word. |

When it comes to upholding concealed-carry rights, the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals has been the only federal appellate court to apply the Second Amendment correctly. Until now. In Culp v. Madigan, a case involving the concealed-carry rights of out-of-state citizens in Illinois, a three-judge panel of the court has now gone the wrong way over the vigorous objections of dissenting Judge Daniel Manion.

California Lt. Governor Gavin Newsom’s (shown) campaign to run for something (either governor of the state or for Dianne Feinstein’s Senate seat when she retires) in 2018 is likely to get a significant boost when Proposition 63 passes next month. Prop 63 won’t do anything to restrict criminal gun violence, but it will raise him from obscurity, provide his campaign (which he announced in February last year) with mailing lists and funding sources, and propel him into national prominence. |

Katy Dolan Baumer, Republican candidate for the 44th state district House seat, said the actions of criminals does not mean law-abiding citizens should lose their gun rights. Rather, she said it makes it more important to protect the rights of law-abiding citizens. “Criminals will always get guns,” Baumer told the West Cook News. “No matter how many controls they put on guns, gun sales or transfers or the power of the gun, criminals, the bad element, will always get a gun.” |

Guns cannot be carried onto school property unless someone is picking up or dropping off a student, the state’s top court ruled Monday. The unanimous decision from the Georgia Supreme Court was a blow to gun rights advocates and made clear that when two laws conflict, it’s the one the governor signs last that stands. |
