The Senate Governmental Oversight and Accountability Committee on Tuesday backed a measure (SB 1364) that would create a public-records exemption to shield personal information --- such as names, Social Security numbers, dates of birth, addresses and telephone numbers --- of people getting hunting, fishing and boating licenses and certificates from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.

When the .17 HMR burst on the scene several years ago I was given the opportunity to spend some time with Ruger’s 77/17. I learned that at an appropriate range, with good wind conditions, varmints better beware. The rifle was so accurate and fun to shoot I bought it. |

In New Hampshire, nearly half of the state’s residents own guns. Republican voters have a notorious libertarian streak and resent government interference and control, and only 24 percent favor more strict gun laws.
This is also the first presidential cycle since Democrats fully embraced gun control as an agenda item. President Obama almost got a universal-background-check bill through the Senate and has signed over 20 executive orders that tighten federal restrictions on gun ownership. One of every four commercials aired by Hillary Clinton’s campaign has been about gun laws. |

1. FAL Pronunciation and Grammar: Soon after the introduction of the rifle, Fabrique Nationale (FN) offered an abbreviation for the English speaking world: L.A.R (Light Automatic Rifle). However, this abbreviation never caught on, and instead we commonly pronounce the model by its French language abbreviation F-A-L. In countries where the rifle was adopted, the letters FAL quickly became an acronym and is pronounced in one word instead of an abbreviation. |
